To help the 2025 freshman class accurately grasp professional directions and lay a solid foundation for disciplinary understanding, the College of Chemical Engineering specially invited Professor Hong Zhou—a Jiangsu Provincial Industrial Professor and Chairman of Jiangsu Xuyi High-Tech Co., Ltd. — to deliver a professional orientation lecture on cutting-edge membrane technology in chemical engineering on the afternoon of November 25^th.

With years of in-depth experience in the membrane materials field, Professor Hong Zhou boasts profound industrial practice experience and advanced technological accumulation. Centering on the core theme of "membrane separation technology", he systematically introduced the wide-ranging applications of membrane materials through rich case studies, starting from the technical background. Professor Hong also shared his personal entrepreneurial journey and stories of technological iteration, encouraging the freshmen to "set clear goals, uphold firm beliefs, and pursue with unwavering dedication" on their research paths, and to bravely explore and innovate.

Featuring rich content and vivid cases, the orientation lecture was widely praised by the students, who all expressed great benefits. A freshman surnamed Wang from the 2025 chemical engineering class admitted: "Since enrollment, I have been confused about the professional sub-directions. Professor Hong's explanation today made me suddenly see the light — I never knew membrane separation technology holds such an important position.
